Sri Caitanya Sanga North Carolina will be purchasing eighty acres of land near Asheville for a devotional community and retreat center focused on self-sufficiency and loving exchanges between devotees. The community will be called Saragrahi in recognition of its ideal of seeking the essence of Krishna consciousness. In late May, around fifty devotees gathered to view the land and share a picnic lunch. The sanga was blessed with the presence of Varsana Maharaja, who spoke about Sri Vrindavana dasa Thakura. Varsana Maharaja was also the first devotee to camp on the land. In the morning Dayavira Prabhu gave Maharaja a tour of the property. To everyone’s delight, Maharaja pronounced his conclusion that the land had everything needed for self-sufficiency and that it will fulfill all our desires. Saragrahi ki jaya!
